Sikh  women who wear a keski/turban often tie a second turban or domalla, over the keski. A chunni is a long lightweight scarf worn by many Sikh women to cover their hair which may also be used to adorn a keski or a turban.

Its the time when I told my friend (Non Sikh) that I am going to get bless with the gift of Turban very soon. His reaction was "Do you think you'll good? and people may not get afraid of you?"
I respect his thoughts too because he was never in such an environment when girls also wear turban or say its our fault that most Sikh ladies do not tie turban even after baptism.
For his question I have a question too which will ultimately answer him which is
"How does Snatam Kaur(lady in the above picture) looks? Did she scare you?"
..... I know your answer... even I have single word in my mind seeing above picture 'GRACE'.

Sikhs are meant to keep hair in its natural unaltered state.
Covering long hair with a turban helps to protect it from becoming tangled, or coming in contact with pollutants. when a Sikh becomes initiated as Khalsa, amrit nectar is sprinkled directly on the kes (hair). The Khalsa initiates consider the kes to be sacred thereafter.

Sikh Girls wear turban but it may sound weird to person who has never seen a Sikh Turbaned Girl before.
So this blog is dedicated to those who have never encountered a Sikh Turbaned Girl.
